Dear colleagues

The 22nd International Congress of Byzantine Studies will be held in Sofia from 22-27 August. The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to participate in it with free communications or posters on a topic of your own choice which relates to the wider Congress theme Byzantium without Borders.

There is 10-minute time limit for the free communications, which will be grouped in thematic sessions of 8 to 10 participants each.

The posters will be displayed in one of the Congress halls and will be the focus of discussions.

Detailed information about the Congress organization, deadlines, registration forms and fees, scholarship eligibility requirements, publication requirements, as well as practical information on the accommodation and organized trips, could be found in English, French and Bulgarian on the dedicated website of the Congress at:

All Congress participants must pay a Participation Fee in order to gain access to the Congress sessions and events and to receive the Congress pack.
